Phil Routszong

After more than ten years of working with several independent and major label artists and groups in the studio and on the road, producer/ arranger/artist Phil Routszong's anticipated solo debut is finally released. Entitled "soli Deo gloria", the project is a reflection upon Phil's upbringing, as well as being a presentation of the Gospel through hymnody. The album, whose title means "To God alone, glory!" is a collection of hymns that are rarely heard in most corporate worship settings. Phil's arrangements on the songs, though, is anything but ordinary. Sometimes musically complex in nature, oftentimes simple; yet always lyrically and emotionally calling from the depths of the soul, "soli Deo gloria" leaves no room for anything but the glory of God. With a wide variety of instrumentation that includes the sounds of full orchestration, a boys choir, a hammered dulcimer, narrative scripture, an a cappella piece and a simple oboe solo, this project takes one through the story of redemptive history, and leaves one at the throne of grace.
